ASUS 2-IN-1 Q535 Review and specifications
The Asus Q535 is a 2-in-1 laptop that gets the job done. It’s not the best laptop I’ve ever used, but it’s perfectly fine for most people. The display is decent, there are plenty of ports and connections, and it has a fast processor and graphics card. However, this product isn’t perfect: There are some major drawbacks that I wish Asus had thought about before releasing it as an affordable machine for everyday use.
Operating system
The ASUS Q535 comes with Windows 10 Home, which is the operating system that’s currently supported by most manufacturers and software developers. This includes all of the major updates to Windows 10, including Creators Update (April 2017), Fall Creators Update (October 2017) and Redstone 4 RTM release in December 2018.
You can choose between two different versions of Windows 10 Pro: Professional or Enterprise editions:

Display
The display is 13.3 inches with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and IPS technology. This gives you great color reproduction, as well as wide viewing angles that make it easy to use the device in different environments. The matte finish also helps reduce glare and reflections, so you can enjoy your entertainment or work on this machine without any issues!
The touchscreen display on the Q535 is perfect for touchscreen use; however, if you prefer physical buttons instead of touch controls then you should know that there aren’t any built into this model as standard (you’ll need to purchase them separately). It does come with an extra stylus pen though if needed which makes writing easier than ever before!
The 180 degree hinge lets users adjust how they want their tablet/laptop combination positioned when placed flat on a surface without needing any tools other than gravity itself: simply lift up one side until it snaps into place over whatever surface underneath ready for use straight away without having any problems whatsoever during operation either way 🙂
Processor / chipset
The processor is an Intel Celeron N4000, which is a quad-core processor with eight threads. There are no Turbo Boost options here, but we’re not really sure why you’d ever want to use those anyway.
The graphics card is an Intel UHD Graphics 600 unit and has the same amount of memory as the processor—8GB GDDR5. You’ll also find 128GB SSD storage inside this device with no option for an HDD or hybrid drive setup here either; this thing is all about speedy performance!
Graphics
ASUS Q535 is an Intel Pentium processor-based laptop that comes with integrated graphics. This means that the internal GPU has been deactivated and you will have to rely on your CPU to run applications. If you want to play games, then this may not be ideal for you since it will affect the performance of your system.
The Q535 features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 80% NTSC color gamut coverage (65% sRGB) as well as 500nit brightness level so it can be used in any lighting conditions without causing eye strain or fatigue due to reduced brightness levels when working at night time after dark hours while using electronics devices like laptops/PCs etc…
Memory
The Q535 has 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. As you might expect, this is more than enough to handle most tasks on your computer, but if you’re doing anything complex or heavy-duty (like editing large video files), you’ll want more memory. This model has two slots for dedicated graphics cards, so if you have an older GPU that needs extra power in the form of additional vRAM (video card adapter), it’s an option for extending your system’s capabilities without having to upgrade its CPU or motherboard components.
The Q535 also includes a memory card reader—the USB Type-C port supports SDXC memory cards and microSDHC/microSDXC memory cards—and a standard headphone jack that can be used with audio headsets such as Apple AirPods or Google Pixel Buds when they’re attached via Bluetooth technology.*
Storage/drive
The Q535 comes with a 128GB SSD. You can easily upgrade this drive to 256GB or even 512GB if you want to, but it’s not necessary for most users. This is one of the best things about this 2-in-1 laptop: there’s no clunky hard drive to be found! And since ASUS has completely removed the optical drive from this machine, there’s no need for an external optical drive either—you can save on space and just use cloud storage instead of extra storage on your new Q535.
Webcam
The webcam is located in the top-center of the screen, above the keyboard. It’s 720p and has a microphone.
Audio technology
The speaker quality is solid, but not the best we’ve seen. We found that the sound was clear and crisp, but we did notice some distortion at high volumes.
The audio jack is a 3.5mm jack for your headphones or speakers if you’re using earbuds or Bluetooth speakers instead of headphones with an auxiliary input port (like our favorite, the Bose SoundSport Free). It also has volume controls on either side of it so you can adjust volume easily while watching videos or listening to music without having to reach over your computer screen!
Battery life and type
The battery life is not great. The Q535 has a 2-in-1 design, meaning that it can be used as a laptop or tablet. However, the battery life isn’t great for either mode—only about 4 hours in laptop mode and 6 hours in tablet mode.
The good news is that you can get an additional battery for your Q535 if needed (you should probably just buy one), but this means having two batteries sitting around at all times instead of just one which will make your device bulkier than it needs to be.
Keyboard and touchpad
The keyboard is a pleasure to use and you can adjust the height of the touchpad with a single button. The keys are well spaced, which makes typing very comfortable. There’s also a fingerprint reader on top of the keyboard that will let you login to your computer with just one touch.
The Q535 has an Intel Core i5-7200U processor, 8GB RAM (RAM), 256GB SSD storage and 2x USB 3.0 ports as well as one USB Type-C port for charging or connecting other devices like printers or external hard drives. It comes with Windows 10 Home 64 bit pre installed but can be upgraded from within Microsoft’s OS by purchasing an upgrade key ($29 US).
Ports and connectivity
The Q535 offers two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 port, along with an HDMI output and headphone/microphone combo jack. The SDXC card reader is also present here, as well as an Ethernet connection for wired internet access (when not using Wi-Fi).

The Asus Q535 is an affordable 2-in-1 laptop with some major drawbacks. It’s got a good screen, speakers and performance, but its build quality and keyboard are poor. The touchpad is also very finicky to use in tablet mode (and not as responsive).
The biggest problem with this device is that it doesn’t offer much value for money when compared to other similarly priced laptops such as the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Edition or Lenovo TAB2 A8-70 KL (which costs almost $400 less).
Conclusion
The Asus 2-in-1 Q535 is a good budget laptop that has the CPU, RAM and storage space to run most modern applications. It has a 15.6″ Full HD display with G-Sync support and an IR camera to help you work in darker environments. With its fast SSD storage and Intel Core i7 processor on board this machine can handle most things you throw at it right out of the box without having to upgrade anything else first. The only real drawback here comes down to price – which isn’t too bad considering what else comes included (like an HDMI port) but could still be cheaper if some of those features weren’t included.
